Define Scope Process

The scope of a project is defined by identifying which features will be included in it. Define scope process is also a means to specify which assignments are within the purview of a project, thus preventing anything else from being assigned.

In scope management, work requirements are determined, but unrelated work is avoided. In Scope Management, defining the scope of the project is the most important part, since it defines what will be delivered throughout the project's duration.

When undertaking the defining scope, the primary goal is to distinguish what is in and out of the project, what's necessary and what's unnecessary. As part of this process, borders are created and work is outlined through the duration of the project and major deliveries are established.
