Stakeholder Management Knowledge Area

The point of stakeholder management is to identify those that could impact or be impacted by the project, assess how much impact they will have, and then come up with strategies to manage them as efficiently as possible.

To successfully deliver a project, you must know the expectations and interests of every stakeholder. Stakeholder management entails managing the expectations of anyone who has an interest in a project, will be affected by it, or shares an opinion. You know intuitively that a rational, plan-based approach has become the norm for this area of knowledge and it is the subject.

There are four processes covered by this knowledge area:
